Cakes!

Today was a good day. James took the morning off work and I got to have a long lie!! They went out to Asda and Argos and I even got to shower in peace too, a real luxury. He was working from home this afternoon, so Kory and I baked some cakes.

I'd been looking through some old emails this week and found a sponge cake recipe from this time last year when I thought about making Kory's birthday cake (thanks Hannah!) so decided to get the stuff in to make some. Kory loved helping as usual, but was a bit distraught with the mess created, he's a bit freaky with things like that.

I got a bit out of sync with bump photos, so although I've only just posted last weeks, here is this weeks too. Don't think there is anything new to report, apart from this sore throat is juts not going away, even with the antibiotics, argh!

Bump, Handbag & Teddies!

Where to start!?? Well, with the bump I think. After my moans last week, I thought it wouldn't/couldn't get worse. But shock horror it has! I was at docs on Monday about my sore throat only to be told I have pharyngitis. So I have antibiotics for that. When I was there she took my blood pressure and it was up. So I had to make an emergency appointment with midwife for today.

So I had that and she is concerned about a few things and wants to see me weekly from now on. On feeling for the baby, she discovered she is breech. Although there is plenty of time to turn yet, I've to prepare myself for another section if she doesn't. Wonderful huh?! So all of my illnesses and prescribed drug intake is wearing me down.

On Saturday night I had a night out with a couple of pregnant friends. Nothing exciting as I'm sure you can imagine, but an indian meal out which was nice. I'd wakened on Saturday feeling rubbish as it was, and thought about pulling out, but know how long it'll be before I get freedom again! The bump photos above were me before I went out. And this is a delighted Kory the morning after on finding my handbag with lipstick inside in the morning!

Sunday was a work day for me, but the boys had some fun playing with teddies as you can see. Kory has a recent fascination for the "big bed" always asking to get in it. Is this really the same baby who never slept, he's a right lazy bones now!

Our Monday was a right off because of the timing of my doctors appointment, so we never made it to Rambos. So it was a pretty rubbish day! Tuesday was on the quiet side too. I felt like I was dying in the morning and couldn't catch my breath at all. So we had a pyjamas morning then after we both slept, we made pancakes then went to get James from his work and I went to mine.

Today, we went to playgroup in the morning as normal for a Wednesday, then after Kory's nap I totally confused the poor wee guy and got him into the car without giving him lunch! We went to collect James who was armed with lunch and came home. He was working from home as he had a doctors appointment (they won't do anything about his annoying cough, argh!) and I had the midwife. I really like this photo of Kory sitting on my bump, but boy did it hurt!

And lastly, yet another video - one James took of Kory and the teddies. Enjoy!

Pancake Day

Today is something called Shrove Tuesday, and the day where you make pancakes. So me and Mummy had them for lunch. I made them because Mummy isn't feeling well. Here I am making the mixture up.

And here I am cooking the pancake. I did need a bit of help to turn it over, because the pan is very heavy. I loved watching all the bubbles come up in the pancake though. That's how you know it's getting cooked.

We had them at the table with some peaches, some jam, some syrup and some chocolate sauce - all things I don't get very often so I made the most of it and ate loads and loads. It was very yummy! But now I feel all full up.

And the best bit about it is that I get to do it all over again tonight with Daddy when Mummy is at work because Mummy makes little fat pancakes and Daddy thinks they are wrong, so he's going to show me how to make big skinny ones you roll up. Yippee!!

Enjoy your pancakes as much me!

Work night out

Well I promised everyone that I would put these photos online for you to see, so here they are. For those that don't know we had a bowling night out on Friday night.

It was a good night but I really could have done without the hang over the next morning. Hangovers, pregnant wives and babies don't mix :(

Garden Playing

It's been too long since my last one to remember what we did every day. Just the usual stuff, seeing friends, going to groups and chilling in the house. Yesterday we were both not feeling well, Kory has a cold again, so we went to play in the garden for I while. I should say swamp really as the back bit of the garden doesn't drain. So Kory had a field day splashing in it! Here's some photos of that and others from the past week or so. Enjoy...

29 Week Moans

For those of you who followed my pregnancy with Kory (or those of you bored enough to look back through the archives here!) you will know being pregnant and me don't exactly go hand in hand!! So instead of brushing over it all like I seem to have done this pregnancy, I'm going to moan for a change.

This week has gone from feeling rubbish and taking a few medications, to feeling dreadful and taking so much I will rattle soon! My throat is STILL sore so I'm taking spray for that. It sets off my heartburn though, so I guzzle gaviscon for that. I am barely sleeping - I seem to have turned into a total insomniac, despite being exhausted. I just lie there awake, for hours which is so frustrating.

The sciatica is getting worse and worse, today after work I could barely move, so I'm hobbling everywhere. My wisdom tooth is still coming in and is painful. I've started to swell up already, my wedding and engagement rings are off and my feet/ankles are ballooning too.

On Thursday evening my doctor called me and said my blood results from the midwife last week have come back and my iron levels are "dangerously low" - so I have been prescribed iron tablets at a pretty high dose to sort that out. but we all know what effect iron tablets have don't we??!! So before any of that happens, my personal pharmacist (thanks Jenni!) advised I take some syrup. So hopefully this improves how exhausted and drained I feel and I can cope a bit better.

I'm having problems breathing too, taking my inhaler loads when I don't normally need to, but they seem to think the iron will help that too. It's ridiculous getting to the top of the stairs and feeling like I've run a marathon. So on top of my normal tummy tablets I take daily, I have quite a collection on my bedside table now!

So it's been an eventful week in the life of me. I'm going to call my work's HR department tomorrow and tell them I can't work whole Sunday's from now on, I just physically cannot stand for that long. I'll either not do them at all or cut back the hours. The weight I have at the front just isn't working standing all day and putting so much strain on my legs.

This last photo is of me in my new Next Maternity Pyjamas. I've posted this as a few of my pregnant friends have asked if they are nice! Woah is me eh?!

Dads Visit & 40th Party

Last Thursday my Dad came up. Kory wasn't shy and was yapping away within minutes of him arriving. As everyone has been ill since Christmas and we'd not seen Dad, he came heavily loaded with presents! Kory even said Santa which we thought he'd forgotten.

He was delighted with his presents - a Tigger phone (thanks Dad, it's *really* annoying!) jigsaws, a wooden bead on wire thing I knew he'd love and a wooden train set. After opening it all, obviously the toys had to be played with! By the end of that, Kory had a new best friend - Bampa (that's Grandpa to you and I!)

On Friday morning we just messed about in the house then after Kory's sleep we headed into town for lunch. The wee guy ate like his life depended on it, then we went wondering around the shops. Dad had decided that the train set needed a motorised train, so he bought Kory one of those...what do I know, I'm only a girl! But Kory was delighted with it once it was charged up and going round the track.

I also went to Debenhams, and finally they had my handbag in stock, yippee!! So I am now the proud owner of a Radley handbag. They call it a bodybag, but that sounds a bit grim! Thanks everyone who gave me Debenhams vouchers for my birthday, I'm a very happy camper with my new purchase!

In the evening, we got an indian take away. Kory wasn't as impressed as he was the last time we had one, but did eat some lamb rogan josh, some vegetable dhansak, a pile of rice and some nan bread before deciding he didn't like it!!

On Saturday once Dad headed down the road, we did the baby's border and then got ready to go out at night. A bit of an unusual event for us all to go out! It was our old neighbour, Will's 40th Birthday Party at the Thistle Hotel along the road from here. I had been a bit worried that Kory would be tired, and had made his nap as late as possible, but I needn't have worried!

He was the life and soul of the party, on the dancefloor entertaining everyone with his moves!! There were 2 young girls and a bloke on the dancefloor. He looked like he was on to a winner having 2 girls dancing with him. Cue Kory going and dancing near them, the girls noticing him and holding his hands to dance and them focusing on him completely. The poor bloke watched, then went to sit down. Imagine being blown out for a 22 month old?!

We eventually left about 10:30pm and came home. Kory wanted to dance more when we came home - to YMCA! This is his new "thing" asking for the iPod and YCA as he says. Oh how do I regret showing him that dance last week!? I foolishly thought Kory might be exhausted and sleep later in the morning, but no, at 7am he was as bright as a button.

While I went to work on Sunday, James and Kory washed the windows, doors and walls. They were all shiny and I can actually see out my living room now! Today was a normal day, Rambo's in the afternoon and then this evening I went food shopping.

And lastly the weekly bump. Not a lot to report, she's kicking like mad and stopping me sleeping. I'm averaging about 6 hours a night, not helped by an annoying cough and sore throat. However I have remembered the one good thing about being pregnant - being able to eat a WHOLE bag of lime Doritos and not feel guilty, or be told I'm a pig. It wasn't me who wanted them...obviously!!

Baby Border Up....

....finally! We decided on it weeks ago, but only managed to get round to getting it on the wall today.

Here's a close up of it too, the silver doesn't show well on the photos, it's all shiny. So girly, not especially baby-ish, but decided against that so we don't have to redecorate in 2 years time!
