Holiday Antics!

What a busy week we've all had. James has been off work on holiday, so we've been off visiting and having day trips. We left Aberdeen on Easter Sunday and travelled to visit my dad and Tricia in Glasgow. We had lunch, played and met Stuart, Colin and his girlfriend Jennifer for the first time. We all had dinner and Kory took a couple of steps across the room when he thought we weren't looking!

After our dinner, we headed to my mums house. Kory was shattered by this time so he pretty much said hello and went to bed! On Monday morning we got up and I was pretty sick. I felt yuck all day, so we didn't do an awful lot, went to Tesco's and went to visit Tom's mum & dad. After a short afternoon nap, we went out for a meal to a place in Prestwick. I didn't eat much, but think Kory ate enough for me as well as himself, the little piglet.

On Tuesday morning we got up early and got organised to head across to Arran (an island on the west coast of Scotland) We had to drive to Ardrossan to get the ferry. As with anything new we introduce to him, Kory was unfazed by being on the boat. It was fairly windy when we went up on the deck, but as you can see it didn't stop him exploring!

This is James and Kory just as we were pulling out of Ardrossan Harbour. The crossing is only about 55 minutes, so not really time enough to do much. We found a soft play area on the boat and then just watched out of the windows.

By the time we arrived, Kory really needed to sleep, so we drove to the top of the Island to a place called Lochranza. As Kory was asleep, we had to resort to taking a photo of ourselves!

We then drove back down the coast to visit the place that was the reason for our trip! The village of Corrie - where we initially got the idea for Kory's name from. We took him to play on the swing, James took him down to the pebbled beach where he got a stone to save, we went to Corrie Church, Corrie Primary School and lastly the Corrie Hotel for lunch. It was nice being there.

We drove down to Lamlash where we went for a bit of a wander around. But it started raining so we decided it wasn't such a smart idea and got back in the car. While driving, I spotted this seal just minding it's own business on a rock, so we had to stop to take a photo.

James took this photo as we were stopped, he just opened the door and clicked the camera, it just so happened mr nosey parker had leaned forward to see what was happening, and I love this picture, it's so natural.

We then went back to Brodick where the ferry went home from. We had to sit in a queue for ages so James got Kory out and sat him on the roof of the car, where he thought it was hilarious to peek inside at me!

This is him on the ferry on the way home being all smiley and silly playing with my juice bottle. He's fascinated by bottles.

Laura was there when we got back, she taught Kory to smile on cue in his bath, here's the result!

On Wednesday morning we got up and left mums house with our mountains of luggage and headed to Glasgow to Ikea. I had a great time, Kory and James less so! Typical men were bored, this is Kory in a huff. He wanted to walk all the time and not be in a trolley, then got hungry.

We met up with Don for lunch, then headed to Livinston to go to McArthur Glen shopping. It's a designer outlet shopping centre. I wasn't overly impressed, but obviously still managed to get some clothes at bargain prices! We checked into our hotel for the night, then went to meet Bryony and Natasha for dinner. When we got back to the hotel, Kory was knackered, so he went to bed by 7:30pm. So James and I sat in bed in the dark watching tv all evening!

On Thursday morning we got up, went to Asda for breakfast and to buy a packed lunch. Then we went to Edinburgh Zoo for the day. Kory liked the sealions and the monkeys. Most of the other animals, he wasn't really interested in!

We watched the penguin parade, but it was a bit naff as only about 6 penguins decided to join in. I was a bit disappointed with the whole thing, there were no giraffes, no rhinos and lots of other things missing. I guess it's just too early in the season, but at least it was quiet.

We had a picnic lunch in a shelter thing, meaning we were outdoors all day. We left Edinburgh about 4pm and drove back to Aberdeen. Kory didn't sleep at all in the car and was totally exhausted by bedtime! When we got him down, James suddenly got ill and seemed to have acquired what I had at the start of the week.

So yesterday was a bit of a washout, Kory and I went to Asda and B&Q, but not a lot else. Today I did some gardening and Kory did loads of walking, you'd think he'd been doing it forever, he's so unfazed by the whole thing! There'll be a video of that soon!
