Holiday!
YAY, we booked our holiday today to Cyprus. We've known for ages we're going but never done anything about it, so we booked it today and I can't wait for 2 weeks in the sun (oh and it just so happens to be when the wine festival is on, last time I didn't like wine, now I do!) So when we were out today I got Kory some flip flop/sandal things and he paraded about tonight with them on for ages like he was the bees knees!
Last week was a bit of a nothing week, we saw Laura on Monday all day, went to Sarah's house Tuesday afternoon, did nothing on Wednesday, Thursday was baby group and Friday was swimming then Hannah, Holly & Natalie came over in the afternoon. Nothing exciting to report, so I won't bore you all! Although Kory is like a wee fish in the water now, he loves it. Sure he'll love Cyprus pool more this year than last year.
Kory is a real handful now, and becoming more clever by the day! He's trying to talk lots now, copies what we say, but not much is recognisable apart from hiya, yes, dirty, cheeky, daddy, mummy, juice. The rest is stuff we know he's saying, but no-one else would! He understands so much of what we are asking him to do, getting things for us and making animal noises when asked. Here is James and Kory playing tonight.
Kory fell off his trampoline one day last week and cracked his head off a table corner, we thought it was going to go to a black eye, but thankfully it didn't, just a little cut over his eyebrow. I tried to take a photo of it here, but he was being too nosey!

Mischievious Monkey
This week Kory has really shown what a monkey he is going to be and has a real mischievious streak as some of the photos will show! On Monday morning, he insisted on eating his breakfast with his sunglasses on. If I took them off, he wouldn't eat, so it was easier just to let him, silly boy!
We've just done our usual stuff this week, group on Monday afternoon, we missed toddlers on Tuesday morning because it was really pouring with rain so we didn't walk! We just pottered around the house and read lots of books, as I mentioned in a previous post, he's obsessed with reading books just now. This photo was actually taken last weekend when we were doing the garden.
One of his new tricks is stealing hair bobbles out of my hair thinking it's really funny and the other day he then managed to get it onto his own head!
On Wednesday I had a bit of Kory free time as he went to play in a creche in town for a couple of hours while I went for lunch! It was really nice to eat lunch and not end up wearing it and hold a conversation without being interrupted. When I collected Kory, I was told he hadn't even noticed I was gone and just played happily all the time! Here's Kory and James playing in the garden after dinner!
On Thursday morning, Kory decided he was in destruction mode, firstly when I was in the shower, he pulled all the nappy bags out and left a trail of them from his room across the hall and into our room.
Then, as I was drying my hair, he went into the bathroom, removed the spare toilet roll and undid loads of it, ARGH!
After baby group, Kory fell asleep in his buggy. I took this the second he opened his eyes! Kory went to Laura's for his dinner while James and I went to see a financial advisor who was rubbish! James and I managed to go for an Indian!
This is our new stair gate that James put up a couple of weeks ago, it has a space underneath it and Kory has discovered that he can see down the stairs and I keep finding him peeking!
Yesterday (Friday) Kory had his MMR in the morning. He yelped as the needle went in and cried...until I produced grapes and the world was a better place!! He seems fine so far, but we'll see what the next week brings!

My Wee Magpie
Earlier in the week, I was in the living room and noticed Kory coming and going to the kitchen. I wondered what he was up to and went in to find him guarding a little stash of goodies which included - a remote control, 2 house phones, a ball, wipes which had been on the table, a cow and a hair bobble he'd actually stolen out of my hair!
Combining this with his recent obsessive behaviour for fruit, shutting doors, brushing his teeth, books, eating with a spoon/bowl, shutting the stair gate, putting nappies in the bin and brushing his hair, he really is a bit strange! He has little tantrums if you don't do these things. Funny wee man that he is!

I'm going back to school
Well Kory said we had a wee bit of news to tell everyone so here we go...
I've got a new job :D
On the 12th June I'm heading back to my old Uni Robert Gordon's University to join their web development team as a "Web and Applications Developer". It's going to be really weird going back there (it was weird enough going for the interview) but it's going to be fantasic to work with an institute as big as RGU.
Here's to better days for the Buckingham family :)

Big Boy Antics

Oops, silly blog, I've been trying to write to you all week, but it wouldn't let me put on my pictures. I know you all want to see how cute I am being so there was no point going ahead without photos!! Do you think I look like a big boy now in these 2 photos?
So all the way back to last Friday, Mummy took me swimming in the morning and then we went into town. I was very lucky, she let me walk and I didn't even need to see my buggy! We went to meet Jackie and Craig for lunch, he's getting to be a big boy now, it won't be long until he can help me get up to mischief! I forgot to take the camera with me though, so *still* no photo's of Craig!
Mummy called me a monkey lots as I kept running into shops - does anyone know what a monkey is? It must be one of the animals I haven't learnt yet. (I know lots of animals and what noises they make!)
On Saturday morning Mummy took me to the park to meet some of my friends that I haven't seen for ages. We parked my buggy in the middle of a big field and we all got to run about, it was brilliant and it was a very sunny day. Here's some photos from then.
Me walking
Me and Aaron trying to talk, but the grown up's kept listening
Aaron and his mummy Trish
With Mummy
When we got home, Daddy had fitted a funny white material thing to the wall at the top of the stairs. Sometimes it's there, and sometimes it's not, but it means they don't shout at me when I go near the stairs now so I can't fall down. I was really impressed that he didn't put any nails in pipes or drill through anything!!
In the afternoon we went to Asda and Daddy hung some flowers up outside and cleaned our car out which is good, now I'm not embarassed to have my friends in it! On Sunday we had a bit of a lazy morning and in the afternoon we went to look at some new houses because my toys are taking up too much space in our house and Mummy moans about it lots.
Monday was a nice day again and Daddy came home for his lunch which he hasn't done for ages. Then Mummy and I went to our group. I didn't want to be there though, I wanted to be outside playing, so I let them know I was unhappy and cried the whole time we were there. Eventually we left to get Daddy and play, yay! This photo is me on a toy I got from Grans work when I was born.
On Tuesday morning our car was going into the garage, so we couldn't go to toddlers. Instead Sophie came over to play with my toys. We were too busy playing to take photos! I had on my nice new shorts dungarees that my Grandpa and Tricia sent me from their holidays.
Later Mummy put my tent and tunnel set that Auntie Laura got me up in the garden. It was very hot so I had this yucky stuff rubbed on me that suppossedly made me look like Casper the Ghost. I'm not sure what a ghost is, but know it makes a scary noise like ooooooo!
We also had some good news which we'll share with you tomorrow, then we went to pick up our car. This is where the good news turns to bad...it's going to cost a lot of money (I think the man said £800) to fix it. Mummy said some naughty words, but I heard her!
Cute or silly? Nana and Grandad got me this hat for my birthday, it's annoying as I can't pull it off!
Me eating grapes again, they're my favourite
On Wednesday morning Katy came over and she brought cakes - I got a pancake which I gobbled up very fast. When I woke up from my sleep, Joe was here playing with my toys! I was pretending to be all shy, but gave a little smile when he gave me a cuddle.
The afternoon was very hot again, James came over with his mummy Suzanne to play in my garden. I was too hot, so we had to go inside. Mummy looks all brown today! Once Daddy came home he left his drawer open and I walked into it. I have a big bruise on my head!
Today I got up and decided it was a grumpy day. I have been upset all afternoon, I went to baby group and there was a soft play area set up, but I didn't want to play, I just wanted to cuddle Mummy. When we came home I was so disappointed when Daddy didn't come home to give me my dinner, so I cried some more until he came home, then I ate it.
I was so tired after dinner and I fell over and banged my head on the door, so now I have a matching bruise on the other side of my head. Poor me!

Shopping and New Shoes
On Tuesday morning Kory and I got up and took James to work as we needed to go food shopping, argh! We came home and spent the morning pottering about, housework and stuff like that. Then Kory went to bed and slept forever! So by the time we got out to go food shopping it was already 3pm. So in a rush we went to Lidl to get all the fruit juice and then on to Asda.
Typically when you're in a rush, everything goes slowly. I'm sure every old dear in Asda wanted to talk to Kory, and if I heard "oh he's blonde isn't he?" once, I heard it thirty times. What on earth do you say to that anyway? "I hadn't noticed, is he?" So that slowed me down. Kory was bored, and kept pulling things out of the trolley and throwing them away, also wanted to know what everything was, pointing to every shelf. It was hard work; note to self, don't shop with Kory again when in a rush.
To complete my lateness to pick James up I was cornered by a journalist outside Asda asking my opinions on the WPR (Western Peripheral Route - new controversial road round Aberdeen) and wanting to take my photo. For those who saw it, I might add I was stressed and had no make up on! Maybe I'll get James to scan it in for you all to laugh at!
Yesterday, we went into town at 9am to meet Laura to shop and have lunch. Poor wee guy was in his buggy for ages and was just delighted to get out to walk in the shopping centre. We had lunch then dropped Laura off and headed over to Tesco for a nosey about. We got some cool clothes, including a nother mac in a sac for Kory for next year - I love his one for this year.
Today James had the day off work, instead of the Monday holiday. In the afternoon we took Kory shopping for his first shoes. We got him StartRite ones and he was so well behaved in the shop getting them, walking up and down. The lady thought he was so small to be walking! We went round to Laura's afterwards to show off his shoes! Here he is in his chair tonight looking puzzled as to why we're taking pictures and not feeding him!

Grape Thief

I came into the kitchen the other day to find Kory had opened the fridge, got the grapes and was on the floor eating them, making sure to pull off the stick bits! He is obsessed with fruit and veg, which is obviously a good thing, but we have to hide the fruitbowl, especially bananas, if he can see one, there is no way we get away with "no". Obviously he's onto where the grapes go too! Yet he couldn't give a monkeys where the biscuits are! My little fruitbat!

Summer's Coming!
The start of this week was really boring, but it got good as it went on. Last Sunday I watched Mummy paint the shed, then my Auntie Laura came over to see me, she stayed for her dinner and we all had a yummy salad. This photo was taken of me on Monday, do you like my trainers my gran got me for Easter? They are Reebok ones, I think I am so cool!
On Tuesday Mummy forgot to take me to toddlers group, I was trying to tell her all morning but she wouldn't listen! In the afternoon Reja and Erin came over to see us. On Wednesday, we got all ready to go for a walk and then Mummy couldn't find house keys, so we couldn't go out! I had to get out of my buggy and take my jacket off again and I was so upset. But Murray came over to play instead, so I felt a bit better.
On Thursday, as usual we went to our group. There was only me and Liam and Erin there. Erin was chasing me lots and she even was trying to kiss me and pull down my trousers. That made me cry, I don't want the girls to see me naked already! That night Mummy went to the hospital to see Holly's new baby sister, Natalie (this is the photo she took to show me) so Daddy put me to bed and tried to trick me with some pretend milk, from a cow. Why would I want milk from a cow, yuck!
On Friday Mummy wasn't feeling very well, but she still took me swimming and then went to Brewsters to meet up with Sarah and Coinneach. We had our lunch then got to run about in the play area for ages and ages. I bumped my head on a chair though and got a huge bruise, ouch.
I am now very good at walking, much better than what you all thought was shuffling in the video of me - that's only because my trousers are too long and if I don't shuffle I trip over them!
This weekend, we moved to our new house - I think it's called B&Q or something like that. We have been there all weekend, but keep going back to our house to put stones in the front garden!! It's now all white stones and the fences have been painted too.
Today we played in the garden in the morning and then Holly came to play in the afternoon, yay! Someone who is interested in making mischief like me, and because she's taller than me, she could help me reach things Mummy thinks are out of the way. We had good fun in my ball pool and in the house pulling ALL my toys out.
This is us playing in my ball pool in the garden.
Once we could do no more damage in my house, Mummy and Daddy took us to the park, here we are on the slide together. When Holly went home, I was too tired after my weekend outside to get up to any more mischief, so I am off to bed to sleep till morning...honest!

13 months & new baby!
Today Kory is 13 months old, has it been a month since his birthday already??!! To celebrate he finally mastered feeding himself with a spoon. He's a funny little man, wouldn't let us feed him and wouldn't eat with his hands, had to be a spoon, but he couldn't do it! We've had a few days of mealtimes being tantrums and tears. But today he sorted it out and ate with a spoon both lunch and dinner.
This is Kory doing "champion" - James taught him ages ago to throw both hands in the air when he said "champion" or to hold up an object like a trophy. It's very funny. Before anyone gets any ideas, no we are not having a new baby, but my friend Hannah gave birth to little (well actually not so little!) girl this morning. They have called her Natalie, which I love! You can see her on their blog I've not met her yet, but can't wait to!
Goodnight

Holiday Antics!
What a busy week we've all had. James has been off work on holiday, so we've been off visiting and having day trips. We left Aberdeen on Easter Sunday and travelled to visit my dad and Tricia in Glasgow. We had lunch, played and met Stuart, Colin and his girlfriend Jennifer for the first time. We all had dinner and Kory took a couple of steps across the room when he thought we weren't looking!
After our dinner, we headed to my mums house. Kory was shattered by this time so he pretty much said hello and went to bed! On Monday morning we got up and I was pretty sick. I felt yuck all day, so we didn't do an awful lot, went to Tesco's and went to visit Tom's mum & dad. After a short afternoon nap, we went out for a meal to a place in Prestwick. I didn't eat much, but think Kory ate enough for me as well as himself, the little piglet.
On Tuesday morning we got up early and got organised to head across to Arran (an island on the west coast of Scotland) We had to drive to Ardrossan to get the ferry. As with anything new we introduce to him, Kory was unfazed by being on the boat. It was fairly windy when we went up on the deck, but as you can see it didn't stop him exploring!
This is James and Kory just as we were pulling out of Ardrossan Harbour. The crossing is only about 55 minutes, so not really time enough to do much. We found a soft play area on the boat and then just watched out of the windows.
By the time we arrived, Kory really needed to sleep, so we drove to the top of the Island to a place called Lochranza. As Kory was asleep, we had to resort to taking a photo of ourselves!
We then drove back down the coast to visit the place that was the reason for our trip! The village of Corrie - where we initially got the idea for Kory's name from. We took him to play on the swing, James took him down to the pebbled beach where he got a stone to save, we went to Corrie Church, Corrie Primary School and lastly the Corrie Hotel for lunch. It was nice being there.
This is them on Corrie beach
We drove down to Lamlash where we went for a bit of a wander around. But it started raining so we decided it wasn't such a smart idea and got back in the car. While driving, I spotted this seal just minding it's own business on a rock, so we had to stop to take a photo.
James took this photo as we were stopped, he just opened the door and clicked the camera, it just so happened mr nosey parker had leaned forward to see what was happening, and I love this picture, it's so natural.
We then went back to Brodick where the ferry went home from. We had to sit in a queue for ages so James got Kory out and sat him on the roof of the car, where he thought it was hilarious to peek inside at me!
This is him on the ferry on the way home being all smiley and silly playing with my juice bottle. He's fascinated by bottles.
Laura was there when we got back, she taught Kory to smile on cue in his bath, here's the result!
On Wednesday morning we got up and left mums house with our mountains of luggage and headed to Glasgow to Ikea. I had a great time, Kory and James less so! Typical men were bored, this is Kory in a huff. He wanted to walk all the time and not be in a trolley, then got hungry.
We met up with Don for lunch, then headed to Livinston to go to McArthur Glen shopping. It's a designer outlet shopping centre. I wasn't overly impressed, but obviously still managed to get some clothes at bargain prices! We checked into our hotel for the night, then went to meet Bryony and Natasha for dinner. When we got back to the hotel, Kory was knackered, so he went to bed by 7:30pm. So James and I sat in bed in the dark watching tv all evening!
On Thursday morning we got up, went to Asda for breakfast and to buy a packed lunch. Then we went to Edinburgh Zoo for the day. Kory liked the sealions and the monkeys. Most of the other animals, he wasn't really interested in!
We watched the penguin parade, but it was a bit naff as only about 6 penguins decided to join in. I was a bit disappointed with the whole thing, there were no giraffes, no rhinos and lots of other things missing. I guess it's just too early in the season, but at least it was quiet.
We had a picnic lunch in a shelter thing, meaning we were outdoors all day. We left Edinburgh about 4pm and drove back to Aberdeen. Kory didn't sleep at all in the car and was totally exhausted by bedtime! When we got him down, James suddenly got ill and seemed to have acquired what I had at the start of the week.
So yesterday was a bit of a washout, Kory and I went to Asda and B&Q, but not a lot else. Today I did some gardening and Kory did loads of walking, you'd think he'd been doing it forever, he's so unfazed by the whole thing! There'll be a video of that soon!Julie.xx
